CLASSES & YOU
Each Hero summoned to Odendum arrives with superhuman powers, classified by a system we call Classes. As a Hero, your character has a few unique starting classes to choose from! These classes can vary from close range combatants, to battle healers, to whatever else you can piece together.
Your character will possess two classes, a Primary Class and a Secondary Class. Your Primary Class will allow for the capacity to use any abilities, traits or weapons attributed to that class to frightening limits. Your Secondary Class will be able to harness and ability and weapons attributed to that class at a much lower limit, and will not gain some of the listed traits and skills from level up.
When you look at a [[ Class ]], you will see the words Primary and Secondary. This would be what you look to in regard to your character respectively when you level up. If I was a Warrior Primary and Guardian Secondary, I would have Bludgeon Resist [Minor], Poison Resist [Minor] and Slashing Resist [Minor] at level 1. Additionally, I'd start with 2 ability slots in which I can take from either of my classes abilities list. I'd also gain +1 Strength, +1 Dexterity from my Main Class and +1 Vitality from my Secondary Class. As you level up, you will continue to gain bonuses from your classes and become stronger.
CLASS ABILITIES
Abilities are the essence of your character in both combat style and how they interact with obstacles and enemies, as well as other characters. They are unique to each Hero, and just because you are bound to a Class does not mean you cannot make it your own.
As an example, an Elementalist with Fire Magic could be straightforward and be used offensively to shoot fireballs. Using the magic creatively, or choosing to go a different direction all together, it could also mean accomplishing feats such as super heating metal to create lava or firework as a single ability. Or it could be used defensively to erect structures which absorb magic. The limits of your power are your imagination (and level), and sometimes common sense.
Limits are not hard set, but they do exist. An apprentice Elementalist with a Novice skill won't be creating 30ft tall petals of fire to hurl at all their enemies like shuriken. We at Ostensibly will trust our members on the Honor System, but ask that you remember your initial limits. If you wish to be stronger and more impressive, grab it with your own two hands.
