EFFECT GLOSSARY
Within most classes are traits that give your character unique resistances and other miscellaneous effects. Listed below are the meanings of each of these traits.
Traits are divided by tier and are as follows:
Minor: Gains a minor resistance or bonus to the listed trait. Example: Fire Resistance (Minor) will make the PC that has the trait take a bit less damage from Fire Damage.
Base: This is a regular resistance or bonus to the listed trait. Example: Fire Resistance will make a PC take less damage from Fire Damage, more so than a minor resistance.
Greater: The Greater resistance or bonus is far superior to the regular variant. At this level resistances are near cap and the PC takes minor damage from those resistances or nearly doubles their output for bonuses.
Legendary: The last one is a Legendary Resistance or Bonus. This is the highest level and doubles bonuses or completely mitigates damage from a specific type.Note for Traits: If you gain 2 traits of the same type, they do not stack. The PC will gain the higher of the two.
Resistances:
Slashing Resistance: This resistance offers damage mitigation from any form of slashing. This includes Swords, Daggers, Scythes, etc. This does not mitigate damage from Magical Slashing attacks such as Wind Magic.
Bludgeoning Resistance: This resistance offers damage mitigation from any form of bludgeoning. This includes fists, hammers, clubs, etc. This does not mitigate damage from Magical Bludgeoning attacks such as Water Magic.
Piercing Resistance: This resistance offers damage mitigation from any form of Piercing. This includes rapiers, stab attacks, arrows, etc. This does not mitigate damage from Magical Piercing attacks such as Lightning.
Elemental Resistance: This resistance is a blanket resistance and shows itself as things such as (Fire Resistance (Greater)) or (Ice Resistance (Minor)). These resistances start off as such: A minor Resistances offers 10% Less damage from the source. A Regular Resistance Offers 25% Less damage, A Greater Resistance Offers 50% Less damage and a Legendary Resistance offers FULL PROTECTION.
Poison Resistance: This resistance slows down the damage over time of Poison. It also prevents you from succumbing to Lesser Poison Attacks, leaving you at 1 HP. The higher up the resistance, the stronger the poison you can prevent death from. Example: Poison Resistance Greater can prevent a Greater Poison from killing you.
Bonuses:
Stealth: This bonus makes seeing the character when they are actively hiding harder to sense. Characters with this trait are often found by those of similar level to them or higher. The higher this bonus is, the harder it is for those of higher level than you to detect you.
Control Beast: This bonus allows the holder to have an animal companion. Animal Companions are listed under equipment and can be taken at the start OVER a weapon. Each tier of this bonus dictates which size animal you can control! Minor being small animals, Regular being average sized animals and Greater being large animals! Control Beast only works on regular creatures and not any that are considered mythical (IE: Dragons, Unicorns, Cait Sith, etc.)
