Half-and-Half Bastard Sword — RARITY: COMMON

A versatile weapon that occupies an equipment niche somewhere between the short arming sword and the classical longsword. Also known as a hand-and-a-half sword, it consists of a roughly three foot long double-edged iron blade, a brass cross-guard with a wingspan of about six inches, and a leather-wrapped handle about the size of one and a half hands (thus the name) with a thick rounded pommel that can be gripped with two fingers for additional leverage or used as a bludgeoning instrument. It's relatively lightweight and well-balanced, more agile than it appears, but still more cumbersome when used one-handed compared to an arming sword, shortsword, or large dagger.

By Ikaros's request, one edge has been lined with silver in order to harm enemies that might be resistant to more commonly available metals.

It can be used in one hand or two, and used for slashing and thrusting maneuvers with equal ease, as well as bludgeoning strikes with the pommel. A weapon for all occasions that doesn't excel in any area compared to more specialized options.

GEAR

Iron Plate Armor with Tower Shield — RARITY: COMMON
Heavy plate armor consisting of a breastplate, spaulders, gauntlets, greaves, and sabatons that offers a great deal of protection against slashing attacks and some piercing attacks. Well-aimed piercing strikes can slip between the joints, but an underlayer of mail over a padded cloth gambeson provides some protection. It looks to be somewhat oversized, but this is so that denting caused by bludgeoning strikes makes as little contact with the wearer's body as possible, avoiding additional injury and impediments to mobility.

Ikaros chooses not to wear the barbut to protect his head. To be a Hero, people need to be able to see your face, or so he thinks.

The tower shield, being a roughly man-sized slab of iron, is extremely heavy and therefore not very maneuverable. A normal human would have difficulty even marching with it on their back, let alone moving it around in combat. The ordinary purpose of a tower shield is to be planted into the ground as a nigh-immovable bulwark which a warrior will maneuver around and take cover behind as needed. Ikaros believes if he develops his strength enough he could use it more like a kite shield or a round shield some day, which would be a large advantage.

FIRST AID

HEALTH POTION — TYPE: HP
A palm-sized, spherical vial with a cork top full of a sloshing, red liquid. It replenishes a bit of health with a mild strawberry taste. Has two doses. (Everyone stats with this!)
